📢 Delay in MGKV University Results? Varanasi University Grievance Exposes Flawed Redressal

The case of a student from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidya Peeth (MGKVP) University, Varanasi reveals a deeply concerning lapse in the public grievance redress mechanism and highlights a serious flaw in the Uttar Pradesh government’s processes. The student faced difficulties in submitting a second-semester examination form. What began as a heartfelt plea for an extension has escalated into an indictment of the system, exposing a fundamental error that indicates a lack of due diligence at a critical administrative level. This issue worsens due to delays in declaring MGKVP university results.

The Core Error in the matter about Delay in MGKV University Results: State University Misclassified as ‘Central’

The factual error at the heart of the grievance closure is stark and undeniable. The complainant, Yogi M. P. Singh, filed a grievance concerning his daughter’s examination form submission at the affiliated Kanhaiyalal Basantlal Postgraduate College, Mirzapur, under Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidya Peeth University, Varanasi.

The Director of Higher Education in Uttar Pradesh issued the official response dated May 28, 2025, closing the case with the remark: “प्रकरण का संबंध केन्द्रीय विश्व विद्यालय से संबंध है” (The matter concerns a Central University).

  • The Reality: The search confirms that the Government of Uttar Pradesh established Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidya Peeth University, Varanasi, as a State Public University. It is not a Central University.

The blunder means that a genuine grievance about a State University’s administration wrongly dismissed the complainant. The appropriate state authority sent it away, effectively denying the complainant and his daughter a fair resolution. This raises serious questions about the officers’ accountability and awareness in handling public grievances. This issue contributes to the delay in processing results at MGKV University.

The Student’s Dilemma: A Chronicle of Confusion

Beyond the bureaucratic mix-up, the original grievance details a situation of academic uncertainty and administrative rigidity that affects countless students:

  • Unrealistic Deadlines: The university/college expected students to complete the admission forms after the first-semester exams, including practicals, concluded near the end of March 2025. Additionally, students needed to submit the examination forms for the second semester by May 5, 2025. The affiliated college set this deadline as per the extended notice.
  • Result-Dependent Admission: The core issue involves universities demanding that students submit admission and exam fees. They require this submission before the declaration of the first semester results (point 6, 7, 8 in the complaint). As the complainant rightly argues, how can a university expect from a students to pay for the next semester and exam without knowing whether they have passed? This practice places an undue financial burden and emotional strain on students. It particularly affects those from vulnerable sections of society, given the delay in MGKV University results.
  • Demand for Transparency: The applicant’s request for clear, accessible circulars (Points 1, 2, 3) regarding the examination schedule is a legitimate call for administrative transparency. The university’s alleged failure to effectively communicate crucial dates on its website puts students at a disadvantage.

🔎 What Should Happen Next?

The complainant’s dissatisfaction—”Sent to other department without resolution”—is entirely justified. The immediate action required is the re-opening of the grievance and its re-routing to the correct department.

A robust governance system demonstrates its ability to admit and correct its errors, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. The students of Uttar Pradesh, who are the future leaders of our society, deserve an effective and accurate grievance redress system that prioritizes their academic welfare over bureaucratic convenience. This system should not only address their issues promptly but also ensure that their voices are heard and valued in the decision-making processes. By implementing such a framework, we can create a more equitable educational environment that empowers students to pursue their academic goals without unnecessary obstacles. Furthermore, this commitment to improvement will ultimately enhance the overall quality of education in the region, reflecting a true dedication to the students’ success.
