Introduction

Whether the village panchayat Bihasada Khurd can upload a public information board image of Village Panchayat Baghera Khurd is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the GPDP Portal, as it ensures transparency and accountability in local governance.

This situation has become particularly concerning given that the Secretary of the village Panchayat Bihasada Khurd is currently evading his responsibility by refusing to provide any information on this matter. His dismissive attitude, stating that it does not concern him, raises questions about the commitment of local officials to uphold the principles of public service.
Meanwhile, ADO Panchayat Chhanbey has taken proactive steps by uploading the public information board on the GPDP Portal, which highlights the importance of accessible information for the villagers and showcases the role of leadership in fostering community engagement.
This action could serve as a reminder for the Secretary to take his duties seriously and engage with the community to enhance transparency.

🛑 The Trust Gap: When Government Portals Show the Wrong Village’s Data, which questions integrity of GPDP portal. This thereby directly affects GPDP Portal Integrity.

Focusing the Lens on the GPDP Portal Integrity

The Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) Portal is a crucial digital tool that the government launched to guarantee transparency and public oversight of rural development. It provides citizens with a single, reliable source to track sanctioned projects. This design empowers the integrity of data related to budgets and the actual work that villagers finish in their village.

Still, a recent case from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, illustrates how easily local officials can undermine this digital transparency mechanism through simple administrative errors—or deliberate evasions. This ultimately raises concerns about the integrity of the GPDP Portal.

The Glitch in a System: Bihasara Khurd vs. Bagheda Khurd

Resident Ashok Kumar Maurya discovered a critical flaw in the official online record for his village, Bihasara Khurd. This significant finding raised major concerns about the integrity of the data presented on the GPDP portal, highlighting the potential for misinformation that could affect various community projects and funding allocations.

As the information on this portal plays a crucial role in decision-making, errors could have serious implications for the village’s development initiatives and public services.
Consequently, Ashok emphasized the importance of a thorough review and correction process to ensure accurate and reliable data, advocating for increased transparency and accountability in the management of such vital records.

Instead of finding the official Public Information Board (PIB) image detailing projects sanctioned for his village on the GPDP portal, the record contained the PIB image of an entirely different village. The village is Bagheda Khurd, which compromised GPDP Portal Integrity.

Why the GPDP Portal Error is Not a Minor Mistake:

  1. Destroys Public Audit: The PIB serves as the physical evidence of what officials promised. If the official online record shows the wrong image, villagers can’t compare the sanctioned digital plan with the physical work on the ground. Thus, this completely defeats the purpose of the GPDP’s transparency mandate and compromises the integrity of its portal.
  2. Fuels Evasion: When Mr. Maurya sought clarification via an RTI inquiry, the Village Panchayat Officer refused to answer (violating RTI Section 6(3)). This denial, coupled with the flawed portal data, makes it that the officials have used the incorrect upload as a tactic. The tactic is to conceal the status of work that authorities sanctioned and budgeted for Bihasara Khurd. This raises concerns about the integrity behind GPDP Portal Integrity.
  3. Compromises Official Records: The GPDP portal serves as the primary record for district planning. The ADO (Panchayat) and technical staff manage an incorrect document upload at the Block level. This action compromises the integrity and reliability of the entire district’s data set.

Action Escalated: Why the District Magistrate Must Intervene

Recognizing that the issue stemmed from the official data management process, Mr. Maurya escalated the matter by filing a formal grievance. His grievance number is (GOVUP/E/2025/0126457) with the District Magistrate (DM), who is the highest administrative authority in Mirzapur.

The core demands centered on data integrity and accountability to restore trust in the GPDP portal.

  • Immediate Inquiry: The DM must direct the District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) and the ADO (Panchayat) to promptly investigate who made this critical upload error. Moreover, they must find out why. This will help keep the integrity of the GPDP Portal.
  • Data Correction: Please remove the incorrect image of Bagheda Khurd at once. Replace it with the correct, authentic Public Information Board for Bihasara Khurd.
  • Strict Accountability: The organization must take administrative action against the staff who violated data integrity standards on a crucial government portal.

The integrity of the GPDP portal is non-negotiable. This grievance serves as a wake-up call that online transparency tools depend on the officials who manage the data. The DM must take swift action to restore faith in the network. This action allows officials to account for public funds truthfully, maintaining the GPDP Portal’s integrity.
