Why S.B.I. is not activating the S.M.S. services if consumer is ready to provide service charge?

Whether debit card is provided to illiterate and poor having no money in their pockets. Whether this is not joke. If consumer is ready to pay the service charge ,then why S.M.S. is not being activated on account.

Dear Sir,
Sir referred account No.34645721675 was opened {SB TINY-OD-GEN-PUB IND-ALL-INR} with product code [1611-1411]
This type of account is devised in SBI for mass rural public of country, having  no accounts anywhere, most of them illiterate and poor,
even it is based on bio-metric operation with limited amount, to avoid complication of using voucher’s etc. As the SMS facility is based
on multi mobile service provider’s, they charge for it, and ultimately it will shift to the poor customer’s, SMS facility is not enabled
with this product. In addition to this, Rupay Debit Card issued with above product, is also having limited transactions merchant  facilities.
Therefore we request you to please open a normal saving account and enjoy multiple platform of banking like Saving Plus, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking etc.
Thanks and Regards

Grievance Description :
Please direct the appropriate agency to look into the matter so that wrongdoer staffs of bank may be subjected to penal proceedings. If account was opened by your applicant under prime minister jan dhan scheme ,then why state bank of India provided your applicant debit card concerned with this account if your applicant couldn’t do payment after completing all formalities required to activate the card as at latter stage S.B.I. withheld transaction on flimsy ground that S.M.S. Service is not active on my account number. Whether this is not cheating? With due respect your appellant wants to draw the kind attention of the Hon’ble Sir to the following submissions as follows. 1-It is submitted before the Hon’ble Sir that branch manager,Mirzapur city of S.B.I. Mr.Surendra Prasad articulates in its letter dated-23/09/2015 that your account is opened under prime minister jan dhan scheme so S.M.S. Services couldn’t be provided on your account number. Consequently your applicant can’t do payment through dabit card provided by S.B.I. as now S.B.I. has changed its stand that payment can be made only when if mobile number be registered on account number of consumer i.e. S.M.S. services must be active on the account number which is provided to those consumers not opened account under prime minister jan dhan scheme. 2-It is submitted before the Hon’ble Sir that why your applicant was provided debit card by the state bank of India when payment through debit card was not feasible because S.B.I. was well apprised with the fact that your applicant had opened the account under prime minister jan dhan scheme. Whatever formalities were requisite to activate the debit card were completed by your applicant as prescribed by S.B.I. but now branch manager showing arbitrariness by creating own rules which is against the spirit of provisions of consumer’s protection act. Whether the act of bank staffs is not tantamount to cheating. In view of your applicant ,staffs of state bank of India committed the criminal of trust of your applicant. Hon’ble Sir may be pleased to take a glance of attached documents. 3-It is submitted before the Hon’ble Sir that why state bank of India is adopting discriminatory/biased approach with its consumers who opened account under prime minister jan dhan scheme. When the terms and condition set up by state bank of India to activate debit card was fulfilled then why still debit card of your applicant was not activated by erring bank staff. Whether this is not corruption that if concerned may not be provided bribe ,then nothing move forward in this democracy. Whether enquiry can’t be ordered to check the roles of concerned bank staffs. If S.B.I. had not to activate the debit card ,then why debit card was provided to your applicant? Please take a glance of attachments with this representation.

  1. It is submitted before the Hon'ble Sir that why your applicant was provided debit card by the state bank of India when payment through debit card was not feasible because S.B.I. was well apprised with the fact that your applicant had opened the account under prime minister jan dhan scheme.

on multi mobile service provider’s, they charge for it, and ultimately it will shift to the poor customer’s, SMS facility is not enabled
with this product. Here this question arises that why debit card is being provided to such consumers. Whether these consumers will do the shopping. If consumer is ready to pay charges ,then why S.M.S. services is being activated ? Whether this is not partisan approach of bank. Why discrimination between consumers opened account under prime minister jan dhan scheme and those opened account in bank as customer of bank .
