How can Tamilnadu Electricity Board slap fine for delay in payment if already paid Rs 500 ?

Whether Tamilnadu electricity board can explain the purpose of keeping Rs.500 as security in advance from each and every consumer without paying any interest to consumers? What kind of security will be provided to consumers if minor delay in payment slapping fine on them but not thinking about advance paid amount? Whether in such a way bridge can be maintained between service provider and consumers? Whether constitutional functionaries are serious in regard to safeguard consumer interests in this largest democracy in the world?

Sir/madam,

The electricity board officials visited last month to take reading of my electricity usage and said that RS. 9 get charges pending for me. In the last two years I pay only gst charges displayed in my mobile and online account of EB through online mode as I don’t cross government subsidy current. Today I visited EB office to pay that amount and they collected Rs 161 for the fine amount of RS.9 even though I maintain RS 500 as advance amount in EB account. This amount 500 is there for last two years and can be deducted for any pending charges. But they are looting this way of paying gst charges without providing proper service.
Attached the Bill.

In this last one year we faced power fluctuation issues and power shut down issues due to heavy usage of power in transformer. Some more apartments are coming up in the same street and it could worsen the power issue more in future. We request you to install one more transformer in the same street or other remedies to solve this issue immediately. Thank you.

  1. Think about the basic amenities being provided by the Tamilnadu Electricity Board.
This issue affects the children, ladies and elders in the apartment and could not get sleep properly in the night. Some more apartments are coming up in the same street and it could worsen the power issue more in future. We request you to install one more transformer in the same street or other remedies to solve this issue immediately. Thank you.

  2. Here this question arises that why concerned Tamilnadu Electricity Board took the advanced 500 rupees from each consumers and instead of that they are charging rupees as penalties if something was wrong in the payment they should not charge the penalty if already they had taken 500 as the advance money from the consumer? If there was some dues then that dues could be adjusted from the 500 advance paid money.

  3. Why thinking of Tamilnadu electricity board concerned took the advanced 500 rupees, from each and every consumers payment is wrong and instead of its charges penalities method was also wrong. they should not penality charges if already they had taken 500 rupees as advance money from the consumers? my thinking is immediately solve this issue.

  4. Whether it is not reflection of cruel treatment with the consumers by the electricity board of the Government of Tamilnadu ? it is generally observed that such security Amount deposited by the consumers are swallowed by the corrupt public functionaries of the government and when complaints are made no action is taken against the wrongdoer staff.
