Undoubtedly Gujrati Devi belongs to scheduled tribe still deprived of widow pension in this so called good governance but no step on her online application for widow pension which is languishing because of rampant corruption in the government machinery. Here this question arises that whether Gujrati Devi will get justice in this birth or she will have to rebirth in this land as Gods also hanker to take birth in this holly land of India.

This is the reflection of lawlessness and anarchy in the government machinery. Where is the rights of women and children in this largest democracy in the world? Husband expired fifteen years ago but widow pension was not provided the fault of widow Gujrati Devi is that she is illiterate and belongs to oppressed section and can’t afford to pay bribe which is key force. Moreover, online application for widow pension was made six months ago but unfortunately concerned staffs of the government machinery are only procrastinating on the application.

It is our Misfortune that whatever our public functionaries say, do not follow themselves. From the post it is crystal clear that matter is concerned with the women belonging to the scheduled tribe quite entitled for the public aid. It was the obligatory duty of the secretary of the village panchayat to include this women into the beneficiary list of the widow pension but it was not done because of the rampant corruption in the government machinery. This lady made efforts to submit online representation for the widow pension then six months passed but concerned public functionaries did not take the perusal of the submitted application by the widow.

Now a days government is providing huge salary to its public staffs but it is unfortunate that our public staffs are so greedy that they are not satisfied with this huge salary which is being drawn from public exchequer by them per month. Whether good governance and corruption can both run simultaneously? If there is good governance then why this aggrieved lady is deprived of her widow pension? Where is transparency and accountability in the widow pension scheme of the Government of India?
