As per new RBI guidelines, anybody is mandated to refund only to original payment source then why not Airtel

Airtel mobile company Uttar Pradesh East Customer Complained regarding he recharged an airtel number twice with Rs. 99/- though Paytm and asking for the reversal of 2nd recharge and refund in his Paytm A/C. As checked, already informed the customer that the recharge was done through Paytm (3rd party website) and can not be reversed and amount can not be refunded in his Paytm A/C.

As per new RBI guidelines, anybody is mandated to refund only to the original payment source, the Refund has to be made by the Airtel company to the original payment source which means paytm wallet of the applicant. Ipso facto obvious that still Airtel company is only procrastinating on the issue and avoiding the refund on flimsy ground. I don’t think that waiver like words suit to Airtel company as quite obvious that payment made cryptically from the Paytm wallet of the applicant Airtel company is staking an indirect claim over that amount.
