Grievance Description

District magistrate Jaunpur, Shahganj Tehsil of district Jaunpur, Organised corruption in Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh.

The matter concerns deep rooted corruption in the working of the district magistrate Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh is not being controlled by him because of lack of desires. Undoubtedly the government will put this matter of corruption under the carpet but it is dead sure that corruption of the department of revenue has been exposed in public.

An application under Article 51 A of the constitution of India in the matter concerning collection of the bribe by the subordinates of a Nayab tahsildar and then distribution among the concerned staff of the state government of Uttar Pradesh. Undoubtedly this private staff has played the role of whistle blower but there is possibility to wreak vengeance against him and will not be protected under the protection of safeguard available for the whistle blowers.

Sir, Increase the share of bribes. Peon writes letter to DM seeking more share in bribe, letter goes viral

Jaunpur Peon Letter: A person/private staff sent a letter demanding to increase the share of the bribe in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh is going viral on social media. In which a complaint has been made to the DM.

Jaunpur: A strange case of corruption has come to light in Jaunpur, UP. A person working as a private employee in Shahganj tehsil of the district has given a written complaint to Jaunpur DM about getting less share in the bribe. When the letter went viral on social media on Thursday, it became a topic of discussion. When the administration started getting gritty, the SDM started investigating.

The tenure of the Naib Tehsildar of Shahganj tehsil suddenly came into the limelight when a letter started going viral on the Internet. In this letter, the complainant has claimed that he is a private employee in the office of Naib Tehsildar. Bribes are taken from all those who come to the office from morning till evening.

In the Naib Tehsildar office, all the bribe money is collected by him. Two other private employees also work with him. They are also involved in it. The day-long collection is delivered to the Nayab Tehsildar. This is followed by the distribution of the bribes during the day.

Role of Nayab Tehsildar commences at the stage of the partition of the collected bribe in the evening.

Nayab Tehsildar keeps the entire part of the amount collected. Out of that, they give only 500-500 rupees to these three. This is a very small part of the hard work done throughout the day. Fed up with this, the private employee sent a complaint letter to the District Magistrate Jaunpur.

Through this letter, he has requested that he be given at least one thousand rupees per day. Our family cannot survive on Rs 500. When this letter reached the officials, everyone was shocked. The DM took cognizance of the matter and sent SDM Shahganj for investigation. After this, the SDM has sought a report from the Nayab Tehsildar in this matter.

Whether the district magistrate Jaunpur will provide the formal action taken into the matter of corruption. From the episode, it is quite obvious that the matter concerns organised corruption which must be enquired in transparent and accountable manner by the team of persons of impeccable integrity.

Rating Remarks

It is quite obvious that in the matter concerning the serious allegations of corruption no inquiry has been carried out by the accountable staff. Peon writes letter to DM seeking more share in bribe, letter goes viral. According to the report the impediment in the investigation is the identity of the person who wrote the letter to the district magistrate. Consequently sub divisional magistrate shahganj district Jaunpur put the letter into the heap of garbage instead of asking police for thorough investigation in the matter of corruption. If someone submitted representation before district magistrate then there are three ways to submit the representation before district magistrate.

1- Personally appearing before district magistrate.

2- Personally appearing before office staff of district magistrate.

3- By sending registered post to district magistrate.

Corruption was not investigated because Rajaram Yadav did not provide mobile number and the name of the father.
