Right to information act 2005 was introduced by the government of India during the regime of Congress to promote transparency and accountability in the working of the public authorities so that growing corruption in the public offices might be curbed but it is most unfortunate, after the implementation of 19 years of the right to information act, the aforementioned public information officer has no knowledge of the duration prescribed to provide the information and if he has no knowledge then he must take the perusal of the rti application in which time to provide information is categorically mentioned.
It seems that there is no rule of law in the working of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited because of the rampant corruption in its various offices which is quite obvious from the reluctant approach of the executive engineer electricity distribution division second of not providing information to the information seeker in the matter concerning deep rooted corruption in the working of public authority.
This is a humble request to the most respected Sir to direct the public information officer to provide information to the appellant and take disciplinary action against the public information officer for violating the provisions of right to information act 2005.
