Grievance Description

Health & Family Welfare >> Hospitals >> Other Hospitals

Please repair the old cement roofing sheet before the doctor cabin where patients sit and ensure proper seating arrangement as half of rain drops fall on the patients and their guardians. On one side of the screen the doctors sit in an air conditioned room but patients are sucking the rain water in their bodies. How can this discrimination be acceptable to the government if the government is public spirited. Government is talking of annihilation of tuberculosis disease but there is a manifold increase in the tuberculosis patients is reflecting a contradiction in the implementation of the campaign.

The matter concerns the old cement roofing sheet at the place where Tuberculosis patients wait for doctor invitation for diagnosis at tuberculosis isolation Centre Mirzapur, For details, please take a glance of attached photographs to the grievance. This old cement roofing sheet is broken at half a dozen places which are visible in the photographs.

The applicant wants to draw the kind attention to the campaign initiated by the government of India in 2018 to eradicate contagious tuberculosis disease from the country and it is the year 2024. This implies that six years passed from the date when the Modi government initiated this public spirited programme to make the people in the country healthy and tuberculosis free.

Everyone knows that huge funds were spent by the government on the publication and advertisement of this campaign which made the media houses wealthy but as far as number of patients are concerned there is manifold increase in the number of patients which is quite obvious from the assembled crowd before the chamber of the concerned doctor of the tuberculosis isolation Centre district Mirzapur.

The huge monetary assistance being provided by World Health organization (WHO) to tuberculosis patients but it is most unfortunate that even for minor test patients have to visit Hazrat Yusuf Imam Hospital Mirzapur where mismanagement is at its peak.

National TB Elimination Board

It is proposed to create an apex body to facilitate policy development, coordinate multisectoral involvement and overview the implementation of the strategy to move towards TB elimination. Proposed constituents include Prime Minister as patron, Union Minister Health and Family Welfare as Chairperson, Secretary Health as member secretary with other members including secretaries of related departments, representatives of affected communities, representatives of technical and donor partners, representatives from NGOs etc.

The Central TB Division will directly report to the National TB Elimination Board (NTEB). Similar structure at the State level (State TB Elimination Board) also needs to be created, with State specific changes as required. This structure will provide the highest level of political, administrative, social commitment to TB control at the local level where it is required the most. It shall also be the major medium for addressing issues of health system strengthening. This will enable local epidemiological features of the epidemic, local problems to be identified and local solutions to be implemented. The Board will review performance periodically. This will also enable the multisectoral response required for action on the social determinants of TB and its outcomes. c. Re-structure the TB program management structure (detailed in the organogram below) i. Strengthened and empowered CTD: To provide a multi-stakeholder response for managing TB beyond the public health structure, it is proposed to establish a separate independent organization like NACO. ii. Thematic Technical Resource Groups (TRG)/Stakeholders Task force: To review, optimize and make recommendations for implementation of TB control activities in the country under the broad policy framework of the National Strategic Plan for TB control.

By 2020 it was clear that the NSP- 2017–25 will not be able to meet these objectives, so a new NSP India 2025 was launched

Comments

  1. Is Modi government is talking to eradicate tuberculosis disease by 2025 then number of patients of tuberculosis must decrease but here such patients are increasing multiply. Alarming increase in the number of patients of contagious disease is only implying the apathy of the government to tuberculosis disease.
