1-My PAN is updated in 13 bank accounts.
CPIO may tell the maximum number of bank accounts in which banks can update my PAN.
Reply to point no 01:- It is hereby informed that this office does not maintain details raised in the RTI application. The respective banks may better provide information on this point.
Submission-Information concerning use of PAN is collected and monitored by the department of income tax. Guidelines regarding use of PAN are issued by income tax authorities. This information is closely connected with the working of the income tax department.
2-Provide provision of law to avail compensation for misusing my PAN in various bank accounts.
Reply to point no 02:- This office/Directorate deals with the information related to processing, printing and dispatch of PAN cards only. Applicant is advised to contact the appropriate Authority wherein the PAN has been misused in the bank accounts.
Submission-Guidelines concerning use and misuse of PAN are issued by the department of income tax. Consequently, sought information is more closely connected with the working of income tax authorities. PAN card is the tool issued by income tax, so its pros and cons are studied by its staff consequently office memo, notifications and circulars are issued by the department.
3-Provide the provision of law which authorized income tax to serve notice against PAN card holders instead of misusers of PAN.
Reply to point no 03:- The department serves notice against PAN card holders under various provisions of law as per Income Tax Act 1961. If a PAN card holder misuses the PAN then the respective authority may take the action as per the domain wherein PAN has been misused. Therefore this office is unable to answer queries raised in the RTI application . RTI application is disposed of accordingly.
Submission-Here you have to provide information why misusers of PAN are not served notices? Instead of concentrating on tax evaders, there is wastage of time by targeting innocent and gullible people and harassing them. Loopholes in the working and rules have made safe haven for corrupt staff and tax evaders. CPIO did not provide any information to the appellant.
