Grievance Description
The matter concerns the working of the executive engineer electricity distribution division 2nd district Mirzapur of not replacing burnt transformer since more than one month is a matter of concern for the people of entire village comes under the Mirzapur City.
An application under Article 51 A of the Constitution of India on behalf of Vineet Maurya S/O Bhairo Prasad Maurya, Mobile number-7887200402, Address-Nakahara, Near River, Tahsil-Sadar, Police station-Kotwali -Dehat, District-Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, Pin code-231001 and others villagers Nakahra.
Subject- Executive engineer electricity distribution region 2nd Mr Rajesh Kumar did not change the burnt transformer which burnt on 25th August 2023.
The matter comes under the ambit of Jangi Road Powerhouse Station under the supervision of subdivisional officer Jangi Road who Monitors Mirzapur City.
The brief description of the submissions in the matter is as follows.
1- From the first and second page of the attached pdf documents it is quite obvious that dwellers of Nakahra village are suffering because of the burnt transformer since 25th August 2023.
2- They have contacted the officials of the department but it is most unfortunate these officials did not pay heed to their grievances which is the root cause burnt transformer is still not replaced by new one.
3- The third 4th and 5th pages of the attached pdf document are representing burnt transformer of the Nakahara village located at the out skirts of the Mirzapur city.
This is a humble request of the applicant to the executive engineer and his subordinates to take a glance of the following ruling made by the government regarding the replacement of burnt transformers in rural area as well as in urban area and take next step in accordance with the following ruling made by the government of Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, the time for replacement of a damaged transformer in rural areas was 72 hours. But now if such a transformer is not replaced within 24 hours, consumers in rural areas would be entitled to a compensation of Rs 150 per day, said UPPCL officials.
In urban areas, residents can claim the same amount of compensation, if a damaged transformer is not replaced within eight hours. Earlier, the time frame for replacement in urban areas was 24 hours.
